Our Standard Retention Agreement is available here. This agreement sets forth the general terms and conditions under which Lawrence Shoffner Esq will consider representation. You should specifically note that it is our practice to deliver "invoices" by email. You will not receive a separate paper invoice unless one is specifically requested. If this practice presents any problems, it should be addressed during our first meeting. With respect to referrals by attorneys, Lawrence Shoffner Esq is committed to honoring and supporting your existing relationship with the client. Moreover, attorney referrals represent our most important source of new business. Because Lawrence Shoffner Esq is a highly specialized practice, we are often asked to assist as co-counsel on specific matters, to act as litigation counsel on a "one time" basis, or to serve as an expert witness. We are very comfortable with each of those roles, and appreciate your decision to include us as part of your team. Finally, regardless of whether you are a referring attorney or a new client, communication is key to successful representation. Modern methods of communication, such as email and webconferencing, make it possible to keep you "in the loop" in ways not previously possible. We are happy to provide you with copies of all pleadings and correspondence by email as a matter of course, or to provide you with copies of files on CD-ROM. |
